Council Member
Ashley is Hawai‘i Island born and raised. She was first elected in 2018 to represent Council District 4, and is serving her third term. Ashley is focused on empowering community, leveraging public-private-philanthropic partnerships, and activating local economy so all residents can thrive. She and her partner Kaui, a County firefighter, live in HPP where they are raising their two children.

Council Legislative Assistant
Kuʻuhiapo was born in Hilo, Hawai’i and have lived in Puna his whole life. He attended Ke Kula O Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu from kindergarten through the 8th grade, then moved to Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus where he graduated in 2018. He attended the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo where he attained degrees in psychology and communication. He is currently a master’s candidate in the Public Relations & Reputation Management graduate program at Biola University, a private Christian university in Southern California. His passion for the theatre arts, public relations, and community shines through. He seeks out knowledge, builds relationships, and uses all of this to contribute to significant efforts for his community.
