Art: The Heartbeat of Our Community
Art isn’t just decoration; it’s the cornerstone of our community. It sparks conversations, fosters connections, and tells the unique stories (moʻolelo) of our place and its people. Vibrant murals and artistic expressions breathe life into towns and neighborhoods, creating a source of pride for residents, which is why our Council District 4 Office is so passionate about public artwork.
In 2019, we partnered with TEMPLE CHILDREN, a local arts and sustainability group that uses creative mediums to spark global conversations and positive social change. Together, we gifted Puna with two impactful murals that strengthen our sense of place and exposed youth to creative art industries.
